Sarah Brewer Gattis, 87, of Wilson passed away Monday.-A memorial service will be conducted 5 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-Rev. Dr. K.A. Martin will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.

Sarah was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her.-She was a history professor at Barton College for over thirty years.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Susan Frady Ruddon and husband, Robert of Elm City and her son, Russell Allen Frady and wife, Patty of Florida; her two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bertha Russell Brewer Scholarship or the George Ernest Brewer Scholarship fund at Barton College, PO Box 5000, Wilson, NC-27893.
