Shirley Tedder Deans Gunter, 85 of Wilson passed away Monday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Rev. Ray Wells will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.Shirley was loving, kind, gentle and caring. She loved the Lord and was always willing to share him with others.

Shirley is survived by her sisters, Rose Lewis, Joann Ivey (Jimmy), and Judy Bardin (Gary), and several loving nieces and nephews; step-children, Sharon Tomlinson, Cathy (M.O.), Wanda (James), Vonda Goff, and Doug Gunter; ten grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Ray “Bill” Deans and Luney Gunter; parents, George Howard and Rosa Tedder; sisters, Virginia Edwards, Mae Boykin, Becky Bowling, Rachel Brown, Allie Gray Lamm, and Georgie Lamm, and her brothers, Howard Tedder, and Edison Tedder.
