Shirley Ann Starling

Shirley Ann Starling April 1, 1935 – March 6, 2021 Shirley Ann Starling, 85 of Wilson passed away Saturday. Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 4408 London Church Road, Elm City. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 – 6:45 p.m. Rev. Shawn Garnett will officiate. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, of sixty-five years, J.D. Starling. Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Paul “Duke” Starling (Cindy) of the home, Richard Starling and wife, Rita of Edgewater, Maryland, Ricky P. Starling (Marci) of Elm City, and William Powell and wife, Teresa of Bailey; daughter, Shirley Linn and husband, Wayne of Newport; grandchildren, Crystal Fodrie and husband, Richard and Shantel Redfern and husband, Stormy of Newort, Trey Starling of Zebulon, Rita Starling of Edgewater, Maryland, and Timmy Starling and wife, April of Wilson and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Wendy Joyner and her dear friend, Diane Mattox. Shirley was a faithful member of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, where she loved to worship God. She loved her church family and her pastor. Shirley loved her family with all her heart.
