Otha Wayne Pollard, Sr.

Otha Wayne Pollard, Sr., 66, of Wilson passed away Sunday.-Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-The Rev. LaVon Phillips and the Rev. Craig Simmons will officiate.-A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Stantonsburg Cemetery with the Rev. Melvin Barnette officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening immediately following the service at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.
Wayne was a devoted family man and friend.-Spending time with his granddaughters gave him great pleasure.-Wayne loved people and had many friends of who knew he had a dry sense of humor.-He was a loving a husband, father and grandfather that will be missed and thought of often every day with loving memories and smiles.-Wayne retired from the Wilson Fire and Rescue after serving 30 years.-The last years of service he was a Battalion Chief.-He was the owner of Pollard-s Tree Service, which will be continued by his son, Michael.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Pollard; his sons, Wayne Pollard and fiancé, Tracy and her son, Corey of Wilson, Michael Pollard and wife, Lisa of Wilson and Chad Pollard of Wilson; his granddaughters, which were the apple of his eye, Ciera, Anna-Brooke and Kaitlyn and his grand-dog, Roxy, which he loved to take for rides.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Lissie Pollard.
