Stephen Arthur Wooten July 25, 1957 – July 27, 2016 Stephen “Steve” Arthur Wooten, 59, of Stantonsburg passed away Wednesday, July 27. His funeral service will be conducted Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. The Rev. Vance Lowe will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Steve loved the outdoors and fishing on his boat, and his greatest joy came from helping other people. He was a loving husband; father, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He will be thought of often with wonderful memories. Steve is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Donna Moss Wooten of the home; his son, Clayton Wooten and wife, Jordan of Elkin; sisters, Gloria Lytton and husband, Lee of Union Grove, and Mary Bryan of Statesville; his brother, Jimmy Wooten and wife, Brenda of Snow Hill; his nieces and nephews, Erin, Cindy, Kathy, Andy, Patrick, Everett, Cara and Madison, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Wooten and Irene Peterson Wooten. The family would like to express the need of becoming a registered organ donor to improve the quality of someone’s life and maybe give the gift of life to those who are in great need.
