February 3, 1950 – November 30, 2014

Steve Alexander Homza, Jr. 64, of Greenville passed away Sunday.  His funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday in Nobles Chapel Baptist Church, 7330 Old Raleigh Road, Sims.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Paul Batson will officiate.   The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.   Steve was a very special, kind, intelligent and considerate man.  He was much loved by his wife, Joy, his family, his friends and co-workers.  Whenever Steve’s name was mentioned in Joy’s family, the standard response from all, grown-ups and children alike, was, “We Love Steve!”  We will always love you Steve and will be forever honored to have you in our family.   Steve is survived by his wife, Joy Nichols Homza of the home; his daughter, Emily Homza of Lahaina, Hawaii; his son, Isaac Homza and wife, Monifa of Lahaina, Hawaii; his three grandchildren, Esak, Liam and Julia; his sisters, Marilyn Adams and husband, Dean of Toledo, Ohio and Richmond, Virginia, Julie Hains and husband, Peter of Richmond, Virginia and Peggy Browder and husband, Jim of Powhatan, Virginia and his brother, Matt Homza and wife, Lisa of Glen Allen, Virginia.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Alexander Homza and Julia Gardner Homza and his brothers, David Homza and Jimmie Homza.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Nobles Chapel Baptist Church, 7330 Old Raleigh Road, Sims, NC  27880.   Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
