Terry Ralph Bean
June 24, 1949 – June 25, 2019
Terry Ralph Bean, 70, passed away at home Tuesday morning, June 25, 2019, the day after his birthday. He was born in and grew up in Wilson, North Carolina and relocated to Houma, Louisiana.
Terry was an avid fisher, and close with his extended family in the Wilson area. He loved pets and most always had a dog with him. Growing up in Wilson, he played football at Ralph L. Fike High School, and played drums in the band and at home.
Terry had a career in retail and retail management at JC Penney, Sears and Walmart working his way up to store manager, where he retired. He always enjoyed talking to new people and connecting with them.
Faith was an important part of his life, attending Freewill Baptist in Wilson, and then becoming Deacon at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church in Kenner, Louisiana where he taught Sunday School and led bible classes. Later he became a member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Houma, Louisiana.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Angelia Reed Bean; son, Terry Bean Jr. and wife, Jala; and sister, Loretta Bean, as well as cousins and extended family in the Wilson area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Herman Bean and Cora Bass Bean.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 1,2019 from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
