Thelma Annie "Granny" Webb Summerlin

Thelma Annie Webb Summerlin July 16, 1932 – March 26, 2016 Thelma Annie “Granny” Webb Summerlin, 83, of Elm City passed away Saturday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Johnny Hudson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Thelma was survived by her husband, Hugh Summerlin, Jr. of the home; her daughters, Barbara Gardner and husband, Larry of Wilson and Pat Elmore and husband, Garry of Elm City; her son, Jerry Summerlin and wife, Wendy of Elm City; granddaughter, Lisa Ellington and husband, Michael of Wilson; grandsons, Chad Summerlin and Collin Summerlin both of Elm City; her five great-grandchildren, and all the special children she has kept at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Annie Pittman Webb; three sisters and six brothers. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Casey Vest, Tracy Smith, and Suzie Whitley for the loving care and time they gave to Thelma throughout her illness.
