Theolphius Barnes

Theolphius Barnes April 6, 1919 – December 31, 2017 Theolphius Barnes, 98, of Wilson passed away Sunday. His memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Walt Tyndall will officiate. A private inurnment will be held at a later time. Theolphius retired after working his entire career in textiles with Burlington Industries and Timme Mills. Theolphius is survived by his daughter, Joanne B. Watson and husband, Rick of Kenly; his son, Jerry T. “Dick” Barnes and wife, Jamie of Morehead City; granddaughter, Dana W. Batchelor and husband, Brian of Kenly; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Harrison, and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Barnes; parents, John Dallas and Sudie Bass Barnes; three sisters, and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Theolphius’ honor to be directed to The Cragmont Golf Assembly, c/o of Rick Watson, 8012 Springfield School Road, Kenly, North Carolina 27542.
