Thomas Edward Beaman April 29, 1942 – November 20, 2019 Thomas Edward Beaman, 77, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 311 W Nash Street, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Steve Clayton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Tommy was born in Wilson and was in one of the first graduating classes from Fike High School. He enlisted in the Navy, and after proudly served on admirals’ staffs as navigator on a number of aircraft carriers. Tommy attended East Carolina University and completed a B.S. in Business Administration. He was employed as Accounting Manager for Cozart-Eagles Company, Inc. from 1969-1986. While there, he completed requirements and achieved a C.P.A. status. He additionally worked for Braswell Equipment Company, Inc. as Vice-President of Finance (1986-1988) and later as President and Chief Operating Officer (1991-1993). Tommy served as Finance Officer at Coastal Dairy Products, Inc. (1988-1991), and later as its President and Chief Operating Officer (1996-2001). He also worked as Executive Vice President and Finance Officer for Ihrie Supply Company, Inc. (1993-1996), and finally as Controller and CFO for Eatman Leasing (2001-2004). In his spare time, he enjoyed active involvement in Shoestring Theater and the Playhouse of Wilson, the Wilson Elks Lodge, and in various roles at First Baptist Church. Throughout all of his professional and personal experiences, he never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Edward Beaman, Jr. and wife, Pam of Wilson; sister, Ann Beaman Sutton of Wilson and his sister-in-law, Susan Broadhurst Edwards and husband, Robert of Rocky Mount. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Broadhurst Beaman.
