Thurman Randolph Barnes
May 26, 1944 – May 19, 2020
Randy Barnes, 75 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Brandalyn Barnes Broadway and fiancé, Charles Banks Foxworth; grandchildren, Robert “Barnes” and Elizabeth Lee Broadway and his sister, Justine Barnes Corbett and special friend, Derek Bonshor.
Randy graduated from Fike High School in 1962 and attended Campbell University. He spent several years in the construction industry and was most proud of his accomplishments as Project Manager for the construction of Northgate Mall in Durham. Ultimately, he returned home to farm. He was also a Tobacco Buyer in the burley markets and the operator of Barnes Tobacco Warehouse.
Randy was a member of the Lucama Masonic Lodge. Although he did enjoy duck hunting and golf, his greatest passion was fishing; especially in the Southern Kingfish Association Tournaments. When not fishing competitively, he loved cruising up and down the intracoastal waterway with his daughter and grandchildren, often ending up in North Myrtle Beach where many precious memories were made.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Brian Center of Wilson and to his special care giver, Little Bit Harper for all the love and care received. His daily phone calls will be missed by many.
Condolences directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home and Crematory at www.joyners.net.
