Timothy Lee Gowen

Timothy \"Tim\" Lee Gowen was a caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the age of 51.
Tim was born to Lee Thomas Gowen, Jr. and Carolyn Davis Bunn on December 5, 1969. After graduating James B. Hunt High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne. Tim served our nation proudly. Tim worked at Barnes\' Equipment and was a beloved employee.
Tim is survived by his mother, Carolyn Davis Bunn and stepfather, Randy Bunn, of Wilson; brother, Cameron Gowen and wife, Crystal Gowen of Wilson; beloved nephews, Nickolas Gowen and wife, Kristin Gowen of Rapid City, South Dakota and Riley Tulppo of Wilson and nieces, Gracie Gowen and Ashleigh Carico of Wilson.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Thomas Gowen, Jr. and grandparents, Joshua \"Bud\" Davis and Kathleen Wells Davis, and Lee Thomas \"Snake\" Gowen, Sr. and Margaret Jones Gowen.
Tim had an infectious smile and sense of humor. He would light up a room and his comical antics left those around him joyous and full of laughter. Tim took great pride in being there for his family, fellow Veterans, and friends gathering to fellowship with them often. Tim adored his mother, Carolyn. Tim and Cameron shared a passion for riding their Harley-Davidson\'s and spent many hours traveling the roads together to support others. Tim was a devoted uncle to his nephews and nieces supporting their endeavors’. Tim was influential when his nephew, Nickolas, enlisted in the United States Air Force and was extremely proud of his decision to serve our nation. Tim brought light to everyone he encountered and will be dearly missed by all.
Memorial Services to celebrate Tim\'s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Joyner\'s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Family will receive Thursday evening following the service and other times at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Cameron and Crystal Gowen.
