Tom Batts

Tom Batts October 20, 1936 – April 9, 2020 Tom Batts, 83 of Elm City passed away Thursday. A private graveside service will be held. Tom loved to travel and during his travels he visited forty-six states, he just loved to ride. He was the owner of Tom’s Repair Service on London Church Road in Elm City for many years. Tom was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. Tom is survived by his son, Matthew Batts of Elm City; sisters, Doris Pridgen, Ernestine Mercer and husband, Billy and Pat Mullen all of Elm City, Katie Williams, Grace Raper and husband, Ray both of Wilson, Shirley Gardner and husband, Barry of Rocky Mount, Jo Bradshaw and husband, Ronnie of Savannah, Georgia and Sue Hancock of Nags Head; his brother, James Batts and wife, Barbara of Knightdale and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rucker Batts; son, Mark Thomas Batts; parents, Ernest and Bertha Batts and his brothers, Vernon Batts, Bob Batts and Jack Batts.
