Velma Lamm Bobbitt, 91, of Wilson passed away Monday.  Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.  The Rev. Elwood Long will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8:30 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home. Velma is survived her daughters, Valinda Bobbitt of Gordonsville, Virginia and Gilda Gordon and husband, Alan of Blowing Rock; her granddaughters, Leigh Shepherd of Wilmington and Chrystal Kimberlin of Waynesboro, Virginia; her grandsons, Arean Sherwood and wife, Suzanne of Greensboro and Beecher Sherwood of Marshall; her sisters, Mildred Lamm of Wilson, Laverle Batten and husband, Carroll of Wilson and Erline Batten of Wilson, and her brother, Floyd C. Lamm and wife, Aurora of Sun City, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Bobbitt, her grandson, Larry Shepherd; her parents, David and Nina Pearson Lamm; her three sisters and her two brothers.
