Vina Lee Arthur Bissette

Vina Lee Arthur Bissette November 22, 1915 – August 10, 2016 Vina Lee Arthur Bissette, affectionately called Granny, passed away on August 10, 2016 in Raleigh at the age of 100. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, where she will be interred next to her husband, John E. Bissette. Vina was born on November 22, 1915 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was the last living child of Etta M. Montague and Thomas C. Arthur. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John Elmer Bissette; her son, Johnie Arthur Bissette; her parents; seven siblings, and her son-in-law, Ray Cope. Vina is survived by her children, C. Mack Bissette and wife, Deborah, and Elizabeth A. Cope; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Becki. Vina was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a friend. She dedicated her life to her family and was a friend to all who knew her.
