Virginia Ann Strickland Downing January 20, 1933 – March 27, 2020 Virginia Ann Strickland Downing, 87 of Wilson passed away Friday. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Pastor Larry Massey will officiate. Virginia is survived by her step-sons, Steven Downing and wife, Monica of Wilson, Tony Downing of Wilson and Timothy Downing of Elm City; three step-grandchildren, Lance, Zachary and Kaitlin and several nieces and nephews, Joe Wallace and wife, Debbie, Randy and wife, Vicky Finn and Tim and wife, Diane Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Downing; step-son, Michael Keith Downing; parents, Paul and Ethel Strickland; sister, Betty Finn and her brothers, Charles Strickland and Vester Strickland.
