Virginia Barnes Evans

Virginia Barnes Evans, 81 of Wilson passed away Monday.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Donnie Evans will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Virginia was a member Old Beulah Primitive Baptist Church and a member of St. Mary’s Homemakers Club.  She formerly worked at Price’s Florist and Garden Center.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Paula Anderson and husband, Kevin of Greenville, Judy Nolen and husband, David of Wilson, Gloria Hendrix and husband, Kevin of Wilson; sisters, Becky Keen and husband, Billy of Clayton, Carolyn Clark of Willow Springs, Mary Keith Bill and husband, Larry of Goldsboro; brothers Glenn Barnes and wife, Barbara of Goldsboro, Eugene Barnes and wife, Ann of Selma, and Charlie Barnes and wife, Sandra of Clayton; granddaughters, Jana Anderson and Kelly Anderson of Greenville, and Randi Grundmann and husband, Brad of Camden; grandsons Blair Ethridge and wife, Allison of Wilson, and Clint Hendrix and wife, Danielle of Lumberton; great-granddaughters Savannah Ethridge and Lexi Hendrix; great-grandsons Waylon Ethridge, Hunter Grundmann, Wyatt Grundmann, Jake Grundmann, and Liam Hendrix; brothers-in-law, Wayne Brown of Selma, Rudolph Evans and wife, Hazel of Selma, and Sammy Kirby of Raleigh. 

She was preceded in death by husband, Roland Evans; son, Jeffrey Kirby; sister, Irene Barnes Brown, and brother, W.C. Barnes.
