Virginia Perry Moore
May 18, 1936 – March 12, 2019
Virginia Perry Moore, 82, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Gary Bailey will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1 – 2:30 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Lynn.
Virginia always served Wilsonians with a smile on her face. Many knew her from the years working at both Carolina Clinic and Wilson Clinic before leaving to pursue a banking career. Virginia proudly served the Wilson Community by working for over thirty-five years at Wilson Saving & Loan Association. Following its closing, she spent her remaining career with BB&T until she retired in 1999. Virginia was known for her honesty, uncompromising moral character and her sweet spirit.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Virginia Lynn Moore Thaxton of Goldsboro and her grandson, Travis C. Thaxton of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Edwin C. Moore; her grandsons, Trent P. Thaxton and Tyler M. Thaxton and parents, Almond and Gladys Joyner.
