Wallace Coltrane Franks
April 16, 1922 – August 3, 2017
Wallace Coltrane Franks, 95, of Wilson passed away Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. David Barnes will officiate.
He served his country with honor and pride during WWII with the U.S. Navy, while he was stationed on the LST 226 in the Pacific.
Wallace is survived by his daughter, Beverly Whaley and husband, Bill of Wilson; son, Ritchie Franks and wife, Connie of Chesapeake, Virginia; granddaughter, Rachel Franks of Chesapeake, Virginia; grandsons, Nathan Hatch of Ogden, Utah, Matthew Hatch and wife Jamie of Sturgis, South Dakota and Jason Franks of Chesapeake, Virginia; great-granddaughters, Sadie Hatch and Julia Franks; great-grandsons, Justis and Kevin Franks and Dominic, Anthony, Devin and Ethan Hatch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Franks; sister, Irma Burris; brothers, Paul and Billy Franks, and his parents, Loy Mack and Clara Franks.
