Wiley Ransom "W.R." Hill

Wiley Ransom Hill April 29, 1935 – July 15, 2015 Wiley “W.R.” Ransom Hill, 80, of Lucama passed away Wednesday. His funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Strickland and the Rev. David Kriger will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the residence. W.R. is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, LaVerne Bissette Hill of the home; his daughters, Robin H. Batts and husband, Keith of Elm City and Holly H. Strickland and husband, Steve of Lucama; his granddaughters; Elaini Batts and Rosie Strickland; his grandson, Josh Batts; his sister, Mildred H. Dixon of Raleigh and his brother, Rudolph Hill of Lucama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Hill and Emma Barnes Hill.
