William D. Pope
May 23, 1935 – November 21, 2015
William “Billy” D. Pope, 80, of Lucama passed away Saturday. His funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kenly Town Cemetery, Kenly. The Rev. Bobby White and the Rev. David Kriger will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at home of his son, Doug Pope.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Pauline Ferrell Pope of the home; his sons, Doug Pope and wife, JoAnn of Kenly, and David Pope and wife, Betty of Kenly; his daughter, Denise Blalock and husband, David of Lucama his grandchildren, Olivia Pope, Erin Pope, and Collin Blalock; his sisters, Louise Bizzell and husband, Pete of Kenly, and Pattie Batten and husband, Coy of Garner; a brother, Wallace Pope and wife, Faye of Kenly, and several nieces and nephews. Bill had a mutual love and respect for the Ferrell family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb and Mary Lee Medlin Pope.
