William "Billy" Royce Williamson

William “Billy” Royce Williamson, 89, of Wilson passed away Monday, November 25, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Walt Tyndall will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. 

 Billy was the owner of Williamson Truck Lines and Williamson Produce. Movement literally and metaphorically, was the appropriate term to describe Billy and his life. Whether professionally in the sweet potato, produce and trucking business, with his family trying to ignite their passion or his love for flying he was always looking to capture a new horizon. His personality, smile and accomplishments were larger than life. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to all who knew him. Billy will be missed and thought of often with wonderful memories.

 Billy is survived by his daughters, Amy Jo W. Ginn and husband, Shelton of Pikeville, Renee Williamson of Oak Park, Illinois, Robin W. Abeyounis and husband, Greg of Greenville, and Karen Baker and husband, Bobby of Nashville; grandchildren, Trevor Wood, Dalton Ginn, Jordan Jones, Mack Jones, Bailey Jones, Mackenzie Brantley, and Will Brantley; great-grandchild, Nova Rose Wood, and his sister, JoAnn Bushong of Wilson. 

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Gardner Williamson and his infant son.
