William Richard "Dickie" Bunn

William Richard “Dickie” Bunn passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023.  The family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 3 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC. 

Dickie retired from Carolina Telephone after 36 years and was co-owner and operator at Ultimate Tanning Salon for over 30 years.  He was a kind man who always had a story to tell.  He would enjoy sitting on the porch steps with a cigarette in one hand and petting his dog with the other.  He loved his family deeply and taught us many lessons along the way.

Dickie is survived by his daughter, Beth Hendricks (Robin); son, Jay Bunn; grandsons, Calvin Bunn, Logan Bunn, Grayson Hendricks, and William Hendricks; brother, Danny Bunn (Sherry); sisters, Millie Scarboro (Carmen) and Paula Childress; and several nieces and nephews.

Dickie is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Bunn; parents, William Anderson Bunn and Emma Proctor Bunn; sister, Emma Ann Braswell; brother, Robert Anderson Bunn; and granddaughter, Brittany Bunn.
