William "Dick" Dexter Strickland

William “Dick” Dexter Strickland, 78, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, at Thompson Chapel Church, 5620 Thompson Chapel Church Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Thompson Chapel Church Cemetery, Wilson. Rev. William “Bill” Pike will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, July 7, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. 

 Dick is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Peggy Parker Strickland; daughter, Kathy Sue Strickland; son, Dickie Wayne Strickland and wife, Sherry of Wilson; grandchildren, Lauren Strickland Jenkins and husband, Tyler, Matthew James Strickland, Brandon William Kizziah, and Dustin Richard Pate and wife, Rebecca; four great-grandchildren; sister, Katie Hobgood and his brothers, Raymond Strickland, and Kenny Stickland.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Matthew and Eula Pearl Strickland, and his brothers, Billy Ray Strickland, and Rudy Joe Strickland.
