Willie Earl Evans October 18, 1937 – January 11, 2015 Willie Earl Evans, 76, of Wilson passed away Sunday. His funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Scott Sauls and the Rev. Joe Shakour will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home. Willie was the owner and operator of Evans Heating and Air in Wilson and a member of Tarheel Rods and Classics. Willie is survived by his significant other, Linda Lancaster of Goldsboro; his nieces, Michelle Mitchell and husband, Joe of Raleigh and Mildred Jennifer Evans and canine companion, Chester of Wilson; his step-daughters, Carolyn Overman and husband, Ricky of Princeton and Arlene Peacock of Princeton; his brother-in-law and spouse, Carl and Jean Edwards and a host of other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Whitfield Snipes Evans; his parents, John Henry and Beulah Lucas Evans; his sister, Frances Irene Edwards and his brother, John Alton Evans.
