Willis Ruffin Farmer

Willis Ruffin Farmer September 27, 1938 – September 8, 2018 Willis Ruffin Farmer, 79, of Elm City passed away Saturday. His funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2 – 3:15 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Willis, a lifelong tobacco farmer was a loving husband, daddy, granddaddy and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Willis is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Geraldine “Jeannie” Ellis Farmer of the home; daughter, Suzanne Pierce and husband, Greg of Holly Spring; sons, Kelly Farmer and wife, Pat of Wilson and Ben Farmer and wife, Amy of Knightdale; grandchildren, Drew Pierce, Tyler Pierce, Kayla Farmer, Dylan Farmer, Gracie Farmer, Charlotte Farmer and Blaire Farmer; sisters, Rebecca Pearson of Sims, Faye Pearson of Elm City and Jeanette Davis of Wilson and his brothers, Thomas Farmer of Wilson, Stanley Farmer of Richmond, Virginia and James Farmer of Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Moore Farmer and his brother, Cuyler Farmer.
