Worley Brantley

Worley Brantley, 95, of Wilson passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, in Brantley Family Cemetery, Hwy 97, Middlesex. Rev. Tony Hawley will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Thursday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson and other times at the family home.  

 Worley is survived by his sons, Dennis Brantley and wife, Dianne of Wilson, Danny Brantley of Lucama, and David Brantley of the home and fiancé, Margaret West of Nashville; daughters, Debbie Joyner and husband, Jerry of Lucama, Katie Ann Brantley of Black Creek, and Joyce Hawley and husband, Rev. Tony of Rock Ridge; grandchildren, Kevin Brantley, Daniel Brantley, Tammy Thompson, Beverly Price, Jason Joyner, and David Flowers; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his sisters, Shirley Wood of Lizard Lick and Shelby Lucas of Wilson, and his grand fur-babies, Daisey Mae Hawley, Kasey Ann Brantley and Tom cat Brantley.

 He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Dorothy Lamm Brantley; daughter, Wendy Lynn Brantley; granddaughter, Becky Lynn Brantley; grandson, Phillip Jonathan Flowers; parents, Lawrence and Belzie Ann Brantley; step-mother, Annie Lee Thorne Brantley; his sister, Sissy Deans, and his brothers, Herbert, Earlie, Berlie, Herley, Irvan and Sonnie Brantley.
