Zura Joyner Scott

Zura Joyner Scott June 11, 1944 – May 31, 2021 Zura Joyner Scott, 76 of Wilson went to be with the Lord on Monday. Her funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Bishop Marvin Wiggins will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 – 6:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Zura loved the Lord and other than her Lord, she loved her husband above all else. She had a unique gift of planning and decorating, which she did for many family and church functions. She was a true Christian, and she served the Lord with all her heart. She never wanted to be served, she lived to be a servant to many others throughout her life. She was especially a true “Servant to Jesus Christ!” Zura will be greatly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories. Zura is survived by her loving husband of thirty-six years, Jimmy E. Scott, Sr. of the home; stepson, Scottie Scott and wife, Stephanie of Goldsboro; step-grandsons, Spencer Beamon, and Brandon Scott; sister, Alice J. Hock of Franklinton; brother, Offie Joyner and wife, Laverne of Franklinton, and numerous nieces and nephews along with many extended family and friends, she was a special Mama to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jessie Mae Patterson; her precious grandchild, Stacy Beamon; sister, Lessie Joyner, and her brothers, Harold Joyner, Norman Joyner, James Joyner, Frank Joyner, Perry Joyner, Albert Joyner, Clyde Joyner, and Rudolph Joyner.
